But, one of the best and easiest ways to limit your risk of bloating is to avoid apples, it’s been revealed.

Apples may be contributing to your trapped wind pain, as they’re rich in fructose and fibre.

Both of these components aren’t easily digested in the gut, according to medical website Healthline.

They sit in the stomach and ferment, meaning they’re used as food for bacteria.

As a result, the bacteria produce gas as a by-product, which leads to trapped wind, and your bloating pain.

Swapping your apples for bananas, blueberries or oranges could help to protect against the uncomfortable condition.

“Apples are among the most popular fruits in the world,” it said.

“They are high in fibre, vitamin C and antioxidants, and have been linked with a range of health benefits.

“However, apples have also been known to cause bloating and other digestive issues for some people.

“The culprits are fructose [which is a FODMAP] and the high fibre content. Fructose and fibre can both be fermented in the large intestine, and may cause gas and bloating.”

Meanwhile, you could be raising your chances of bloating pain by eating honey.

Honey contains a specific type of sugar that may be causing your trapped wind.

But, adding more coriander to your diet may be the key to relieving your bloating pain.
